National Tree Day has always been about bringing people together to create positive environmental change. For businesses, it's also an opportunity to strengthen team connections, support local communities and demonstrate your organisation's commitment to sustainability.

    1. Host your own Tree Day event

Hosting a National Tree Day event is a fantastic way to engage employees while making a lasting contribution to your local environment. Your event could involve planting native seedlings, restoring bushland, cleaning up a local reserve or carrying out other nature care activities.

When you register as a Site Coordinator, you'll gain access to the National Tree Day Coordinator Hub, planning resources, the Tree Day Toolkit, monthly updates and the ability to connect with volunteers and offer resources to other sites. Businesses can host either private staff events or public events that invite the wider community to participate.

    2. Support a local Tree Day site

If hosting your own event isn't possible this year, you can still make a meaningful impact by supporting an existing National Tree Day site.

Search for a registered planting site in your area and reach out to the coordinator to see how your business can help. You might organise a staff volunteering day, donate tools or refreshments, provide seedlings or other materials, or simply lend an extra pair of hands on the day. Supporting an existing site is a simple way to build community relationships while helping local environmental projects succeed.

    3. Spread the word

One of the easiest ways to support National Tree Day is by encouraging your employees, customers and networks to get involved.

Download the free National Tree Day social media graphics and promotional resources to help spread the message across your organisation's communication channels. Every post helps inspire more Australians to get outside, connect with nature and take positive environmental action.

    4. Help more communities plant trees

If your business can't participate in person, you can still help communities restore Australia's natural environment.

You can support Planet Ark's broader environmental work through a donation or contribute directly to The Seedling Bank, which provides grants to schools and community groups to purchase native seedlings for local restoration projects. Since launching in 2019, The Seedling Bank has helped fund hundreds of community planting projects, ensuring more seedlings make it into the ground where they're needed most.

National Tree Day is an opportunity for businesses to bring people together around a shared purpose while making a tangible contribution to healthier, greener communities. However your organisation chooses to get involved, you'll be helping grow a legacy that has already seen over 28 million trees planted across Australia during the past 30 years.
